1. Tell us something about your home.
I recently swapped a 140-plus-year-old Queenslander for a unit in Main Beach. Whilst I miss the smell of freshly mowed grass and tinkering around the house, I'm thoroughly enjoying leaving the maintenance to someone else and embracing a more relaxed coastal lifestyle.
2. What did you do before you found this career?
Before real estate, I spent many years in sales and marketing roles with multinational companies, helping customers solve problems and improve business outcomes. Looking back, real estate was a natural progression. It's still about people, relationships and finding solutions.
3. What has been the highlight of your career?
Living and working in China. It pushed me well outside my comfort zone, taught me to adapt quickly and gave me some incredible experiences. It also taught me that a smile goes a long way, even when neither person speaks the other's language.
4. What is your greatest daily challenge?
Going to bed on time! I always aspire to have a set bedtime and know how important it is, particularly as I'm getting older. I'm still a work in progress.
5. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Fit, healthy and happy. Ideally somewhere with great food, spectacular wine and plenty of opportunities for adventure. I fully intend on proving that getting older doesn't mean slowing down.
6. Where do you find inspiration?
From my past experiences. I've learnt that some of life's best lessons arrive disguised as setbacks. I also try to surround myself with positive people who challenge me, support me and make me laugh.
7. What's your favourite restaurant?
That's like asking me to choose my favourite niece! At the moment, though, I'd say Eska at Nobbys Beach. The seafood is outstanding, the service is genuinely warm, and I've shared some wonderful memories there with special people.
8. What's your favourite book?
That's another impossible question. Recently I've been reading The Book of Awakening by Mark Nepo. It's a daily meditation book, which sounds far more serious than it actually is. Some days it feels like it was written specifically for whatever challenge I'm facing.
9. What do you do in your free time?
Anything outdoors. Running, hiking, beach walks, and catching up with family and friends over a home cooked meal. Sitting still has never been one of my strengths.
10. Name one thing we may not know about you.
I was an Intelligence Officer in the Australian Army. Which sounds very impressive until I tell people there were far fewer spy missions than they imagined and a lot more paperwork. It's slightly less James Bond and a lot more spreadsheets.
